Online learning that extends beyond the screen

Live sessions provide human guidance, questioning, encouragement and specialist support while learners investigate and create meaningful solutions.

What families can expect

Prepare only what is needed

Before the first session, parents receive the challenge name, date and time, educator name, secure joining information and a short materials list.

Learn actively

Sessions combine discussion with designing, building, coding, experimenting, testing and improving. Learners are not expected to watch a screen passively for the whole session.

Keep adults involved

Depending on age and need, a parent or carer may help a learner join, remain nearby, support practical materials or assist with technical issues.

Safeguarding and help

Read the eight child-friendly online rules before a learner begins live sessions. The resource explains privacy, approved communication, practical safety and how to speak up.

Read the Safety Agreement

Future Forge educators can review the internal online-safety guidance after signing in with an authorised staff account.
